This news just dropped in from Japan! According to Best Car Magazine, it appears that, besides the Toyota FT-86, the Japanese manufacturer is also working on a hybrid version of the MR-2 dubbed MR-S. According to the magazine, this new vehicle will be a direct competitor to the upcoming Honda CR-Z which is set to make its official debut in 2010, at the Detroit Auto Show. Looking at the rendering we can say that it looks much better than the CR-Z but this is just a rendering of a Japanese artist.

9ff Speed9 to make its debut at the Essen Motor Show
The exclusive Porsche vehicles tuner 9ff will display its latest project named 9ff Speed9 at the Essen Motor Show. Based on 2010 Porsche 997 Turbo, the new conversion is 9ff’s second independent complete vehicle. The development of the vehicle is said to follow the traditional design formula of the Porsche 356/1500S Speedster (1955), which includes shortened windscreen and emphatically level vehicle silhouette. The aero kit fitted on the refined Porsche 997 Turbo features a front apron, side skirts and rear apron. The Speed9’s Bi Turbo engine is able to generate up to 650 hp/478 kW and 890 Nm of torque due to the 9ff 650 VTG Turbochargers, ECU remap, sport air filter, 100cell sport metal catalytic converter, 9ff sport-exhaust system and exhaust manifolds. BMW ActiveHybrid 7 to make its North American debut in LA
The BMW ActiveHybrid 7 is a car that stands out with the new standards it sets for performance and efficiency in the premium luxury class.
Based on the newest BMW 7 Series, the car is a symbiosis of an upgraded twin-turbo, High Precision Direct Injection, and V8 engine with a 3-phase synchronous electric motor that gives it a combined output of 455 hp and maximum torque of 515 lb-ft. Power is transmitted via an 8-speed automatic transmission with the electric motor positioned between the engine and the torque converter. A lithium-ion battery was developed specifically for the BMW ActiveHybrid 7. The interaction of these power sources maximizes the efficiency and dynamic performance of the vehicle. Audi takes a 9.09% stake in Bayern Munich
For a cool 90 million euros ($135.8 million), Audi now owns a 9.09% stake in Bayern Munich, the richest and most successful soccer club in Germany. Audi didn’t just purchase a stake in the club out of the blue; it has been the exclusive car sponsor of the club since 2002.
Audi CEO Rupert Stadler said that aside from the direct financial participation, Audi also is planning to strengthen the global presence of both brands in the “form of grassroots development in globally organized soccer schools.” Bayern has a record number of domestic championships and in the international arena, it has won the European Cup four times. It has sole ownership of the Allianz Arena, which boasts a 69,000-capacity. Audi is headquartered in the Bavarian town of Ingolstadt north of Munich.
Nissan’s 2012 Olympic fleet would have averaged 60 g/km of CO2
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) defends its choice of BMW as its automotive partner for the games, saying that it best matched its average 120g/km emissions targets.
Still, detractors surmise that Nissan’s 2012 Olympic fleet would have averaged 60g/km of CO2, far lower than what the games’ organizers had required. According to a senior Nissan source, Nissan’s average emissions were the lowest of all the bidders. The source considers LOCOG’s decision to be a “backwards step” for the capital’s chances of creating an electric infrastructure. The source added that it doesn’t have a problem with BMW getting the contract but then, Nissan feels that LOCOG missed out on a chance to “kick-start a proper electric infrastructure in London.” Half of Renault-Nissan’s 4,000-strong fleet would have consisted of all-electric Nissan Leafs, which will go into production within a year.

2009 Essen Motor Show: Brabus B63 S breaks cover
Brabus unveiled today at the 2009 Essen Motor Show, its brand new B63 S, a new sports sedan based on the latest Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.
For those who don’t know, the ”standard” E63 AMG comes with a 6.3-liter V8 engine capable to deliver 525 hp but the German tuner wasn’t satisfied by this number and added an extra 30 hp in order to obtain a total output of 555 hp and an impressive 650 Nm (464 to 479 lb-ft) at 5,400 rpm. With these numbers, the B63 S sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.3 seconds while the top speed is electronically limited to 320 km/h (200 mph). In order the transfer all the 555 hp on the road the German tuner offers a limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent for the E 63 AMG. Continued after the jump!
Geely agrees with Ford on intellectual property rights issues in its bid for Volvo

A major obstacle has just been removed from the deal brewing between Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and Ford Motor Co. According to a Europe-based Geely spokesman, the deal has been held up due to a dispute on intellectual property rights issues in the bid for Volvo.
The spokesman also confirmed that if the sale is made, Geely will take control of all technologies developed exclusively by Volvo. Under the agreement, Volvo will still have access to Ford technologies that are essential to the future development of the brand, including those relating to safety and environmental protection. On the other hand, Geely will not have access or any ownership rights to those Ford technologies. Just last month, Ford named Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, the parent of Geely Automobile Holdings, as a preferred bidder for its money-losing Swedish car unit.
Kicherer SLS 63 CP based on the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Did you ever stop to wonder why the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL has a grid in front of the windscreen or what the “CP” on the vehicle actually means? To explain it, a trip down history lane has to be taken. The Carrera (race) was held all through Mexico along the famous Panamerican Highway and it had the support of the Mexican government. In 1952, a highly interesting race took place.
The Mercedes 300-Benz SL won that year but a low-flying vulture had flown right smack to the windscreen. The co-driver was hit and injured and as a result, the Mercedes-Benz mechanics built a grid in front of the windscreen to prevent such a thing happening again. The Kicherer engineers then decided to name the vehicle as the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Continued after the jump!
2009 Essen Motor Show: Wimmer RS Ferrari F430 Scuderia

At the Essen Motor Show, be on the lookout for the Ferrari F430 Scuderia that the tuners at Wimmer RS have been working on. Wimmer’s refinement program is said to take the famous red sports car to a whole new level due to its striking sport characteristics and dynamics. Wimmer gave the car a specially developed power kit, which can be heard and felt.
The package consists of new Wimmer engine control software and sport valve exhaust system with remote control. Fitted with the new power pack, the Wimmer Scuderia’s 4.3L V8 petrol engine generates 38 hp more than the stock output of 483 hp. This makes the car achieve a top speed increase to 321 km/h. The F430 Scuderia is able to accelerate form zero to 100 km/h in just 3.84 seconds, to 200 km/h in 11.03 seconds and to 300 km/h in 34.9 seconds. The refined Ferrari also has the KW HLS system (Hydraulic Lift System) that lifts up the front axle with 45 mm if needed. To reinforce the F430’s ultimate sport appeal, the car was given 19” BBS FI alloy rims wrapped in speed tires from Dunlop in dimensions 225/35 R 19 on the front axle and 305/30 R19 on the rear one. LA Auto Show Preview: 2011 Chevrolet Cruze U.S. version

Finally, Chevrolet unveiled today the U.S. production version of the 2011 Cruze compact sedan! Set to make its official debut at the L.A. Auto Show on Dec. 2, the new vehicle promises to redefine the fuel-efficient vehicles. Offered with the new, small-displacement four-cylinder Ecotec 1.4L I-4 turbo engine the new car is capable to offer an impressive 40 mpg on the highway.

The new Brabus Widestar offers an even more stunning appearance to the GL-Class thanks to the new aerodynamic kit consisting of a front apron with larger air dams, integrated LED daytime running lights and gof lamps, new side sills, a rear roof spoiler and a new rear bumper with integrated air diffuser as well as a Brabus stainless-steel quad sport exhaust system. 2010 Mazdaspeed 3: What We Know So Far
In the front, the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 takes on styling cues from the upcoming 2010 Mazda 3 with a smooth, sleek front end but adds one significant difference: a huge hood scoop. Unlike the previous Mazdaspeed 3, the new generation will introduce more air through a hood scoop which will likely cool off a larger, more powerful turbocharged motor. Before getting into rumored motors, the remainder of the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 exterior includes flared out wheel arches similar to the RX-8, more aggressive side skirts and a redesigned rear bumper that includes sculpted openings for a new dual exhaust system.
As of this writing Mazda hasn’t confirmed what motor will be used in the new Mazdaspeed 3 but rumor has it the new ‘Speed will either use the 2.5 liter four cylinder from the next generation Mazda 3 (plus a turbo) or a Volvo sourced T5 (turbo five cylinder) producing around 300 horsepower. One popular online car site predicted the current 2.3 liter four cylinder in the Mazdaspeed 3 will be carried over into the next generation at the same power output. We question the logic behind why Mazda would bother adding a large hood scoop to the new Mazdaspeed 3 if they aren’t going to use an engine more powerful than the current iteraiton.
There is much concern over the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3’s ability to manage a three hundred horsepower engine while maintaining its front wheel drive only configuration. It’s widely expected that Mazda will either offer all wheel drive standard or take advantage of Ford’s new RevoKnuckle FWD suspension system that reduces torque steer and allows automakers to put more power to the front wheels. If the RevoKnuckle FWD system is in fact a possibility then it conflicts with rumors that claim the upcoming Mazdaspeed 3 will not have a limited slip differential.
Inside, the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 will see many of the same new interior design elements as the 2010 Mazda 3 including a two tier dashboard with information and radio data display screen residing above a newly contoured center dash panel. Below the radio controls are three large, recessed radio dials that control fan speed, heat and air conditioning outlets and temperature.
The next Mazdaspeed 3 is most likely going to continue on as a hatchback only model and we still await official word from Mazda on what interior options they plan to carry over from the more mainstream Mazda 3 model. Based on spy shots of the Mazdaspeed 3, it appears that Mazda will continue their plan to not include a sunroof on Mazdaspeed 3s in order to improve aerodynamics. Mazda has also reshaped the rear spoiler on the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 prototype which will increase downforce and improve the driving experience at higher speeds.
2009 Ferrari F430 Spider – Spoiling Drivers One Smile at a Time
Integrating the F1-racing technology into its powertrain, suspension, aerodynamics and chassis, the 2009 Ferrari F430 Spider convertible is designed and upgraded to excite. Bringing racing performance to the highway, this is not an exotic for the faint of heart, but rather for the sincere racing enthusiast with a taste for luxury.
Encompassing Italian opulence, the F430 Spider is a topless version of its predecessor, the Ferrari F430 Coupe. The Spider features a standard 4.3-liter V8 engine and prances 490 of the fabulous Ferrari horses. Driver/renter has an option of two transmissions-a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed manual with F1-style steering column-mounted shift paddles which allow for extremely fast and seamless gear changes.
There is a switch on all F430 steering wheels, called a manettino, that works to integrate suspension, traction control, stability control and allows the driver to control optimum settings for current conditions. Pretty sweet, eh? We thought so.
Other options are carbon fiber interior trim, parking sensors, navigation system, and a Bose sound system-as if you will not be attracting enough attention barreling down the streets in your Ferrari Spider rental Miami style.

The Bugatti Veyron is by its nature a very expensive car. Now add to it a F1 license plate, which is also the most expensive one and you will get the ultimate machine. The two of them, together will be the stars at the MPH Show at London’s Earls Court between 5-8 November. The lucky owner of this car is Afzal Kahn, who was kind enough to put it on display.

Volvo's Sexy New S60 Sedan Revealed: First Official Photos of BMW 3-Series Rival
While Volvo has yet to release any photos of the interior, it is believed that the styling will again be influenced, though to a much less degree, by the concept model's cabin featuring a same shape dashboard.
Contrary to its predecessor that was awkwardly positioned between the BMW 3- and 5-Series, the new S60 is sized and designed to compete directly against the smaller bimmer and the Audi A4 in the small executive sedan segment.Underneath the sheetmetal, the 2011 S60 uses a variation of Ford's EUCD platform that underpins cars like Volvo's own S80 and the European Mondeo and S-MAX / Galaxy.
No technical details were disclosed, but Volvo promises that the new S60 will be more driver orientated that its predecessor.
"The all-new Volvo S60 is sculpted to move you. It looks and drives like no other Volvo before and the car's technology will help you to be safer and more confident behind the wheel," says Stephen Odell, President and CEO of Volvo Cars.
The new sedan is expected to be offered with a variety of gasoline and diesel engines including Ford's new EcoBoost 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine featuring turbocharging, direct injection and outputs ranging from 150 to 180 horsepower.
Among other highlights will be a new Pedestrian Detection system that can detect pedestrians in front of the car and brake automatically if the driver does not react in time.



2012 Lexus LFA: Official High-Res Photos and Specs of Ferrari-Fighting Supercar, Priced at $375,000
Making its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show today, the production version of the original LF-A concept, which has been renamed to LFA, is Lexus' first-ever supercar and it will go on sale at the end of 2010. The Ferrari-fighting supercar is powered by a front-mounted, purpose built 4.8-liter V10 engine that cranks out 553HP (560PS) at 8,700 rpm and 480Nm or 354 lb-ft of torque at 6,800 rpm, with 90% of its peak torque available between 3,700rpm and 9,000rpm.
The all-new compact-sized V10 engine that is said to be smaller than a conventional V8, sends power to the rear wheels through a six-speed automated sequential gearbox that features four selectable driving modes and a seven-stage shift-speed selector that results in upshift speeds down to 0.2 seconds.
The Japanese maker claims a 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 325 km/h or 202 mph for the LFA.Just like many other top-notch supercars such as the Ferrari Enzo, the chassis and body of the LFA are made largely of carbon-fiber composite. In accordance to Lexus, the 4,505mm long car weighs 1,480kg or 3,263 pounds with a front-to-rear weight distribution of 48:52. For the record, the Enzo weighed in at 1,365kg or 3,009 lbs.
The LFA's suspension comprises of double wishbones at the front and a multilink arrangement at the back. Stopping power comes courtesy of Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes with six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers at the rear.
Lexus has already began accepting orders for the LFA with first deliveries expected to take place towards the end of 2010. Production of the base model will be strictly limited to 500 units with preliminary pricing set at $375,000 (around €250,000).
In the beginning of 2012, Lexus will also launch two special versions of the LFA, including one with unique color(s) and a more track-focused model.
2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS Facelift Officially Revealed
Four years after its introduction in the market, the Mercedes-Benz CLS has received its first facelift that includes subtle design changes and the addition of a new entry-level model, the V6-powered CLS 280. The four-door coupe’s exterior features a new radiator grille with two louvres instead of the previous four, larger mirrors with arrow shaped indicator lamps, new alloy-wheels, LED tail lights, trapezoidal exhaust tailpipes (and not oval as before) and finally a slightly re-designed rear bumper.
Inside, modifications include a restyled leather steering wheel in a three-spoke design with multifunction buttons, as well as a new-look instrument cluster with white dials. As for the new entry-level CLS 280, it is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 unit generating 231 HP and a maximum torque of 300 Nm or 231 lbs/ft. The CLS 280 sprints from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.7 sec while its top speed is 245 km/h or 152 mph.
